Maya BOGDANOVICH (Cellist)Since arriving in France, at the age of 16, the Serbian cellist Maja Bogdanovic has performed throughout the country and Europe.

Maya is active as a soloist and chamber musician. She has performed with several symphony orchestras including the Serbian Radio and Television Orchestra, Orchestra of French Republic Guard, Chamber Orchestra of Saint Georges, Chamber Orchestra "Dusan Skovran", Orchestre des Laureats of Conservatoire de Paris, Munchener Kammerorchester.
As a chamber musician, she performed a concert series with pianists Lidija and Sanja Bizjak, Maria Belaussova, clarinettists Mate Bekavac and Sandrine Vasseur.

Maya recieved the Ministry of Culture Awards, and scholarships of the Madlena Jankovic Private Fund, Fund for Development of Young Artists, The French Goverment, Societe Generale Fund, Fondation Meyer, as well as scholarship of NATEXIS Banque Populaire (2004 - 2007).

She has given the concerts at the Gallery of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Kolarac Concert Hall, Sinagogue in Novi Sad, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Theatre Mogador and Theatre des Champs Elysees in Paris, Cite des Congres in Nantes, Palais des Papes in Avignon, Prinzregentheater in Munich and others. She performed at Belgrade Summer Festival, BEMUS (Belgrade Music Festival), Prades dans Champs Elysees, Belgrade Cello Fest, and different festivals in France.

She won the highest awards at domestic and international competitions - Petar Konjovic 1997 Belgrade (1st Prize), Usti nad Orlici, Czech Republic 1997 (2nd Prize), Tortona, Italy Premio Kawai 1995 (1st Prize), Liezen, Austria 1998 (2nd Prize). In 2003, she won the 1st Prize of ESTA Competition in Paris, as well as Grand Prix de Normandie - chamber music competition, duo with pianist Sanja Bizjak. In march 2005, she was the laureate of the International Cello Competition "Jeunesses Musicales" in Belgrade, 3rd Prize and special prizes for compulsory pieces, as well as Special Prize of "Misa Pavlovic" Fund - a cd production. In september 2005, Maya was selected among 6 semi finalists of ARD Competition in Munich.

Maya worked with cellists Bernard Greehnouse, Alban Gerhardt, Jens Peter Maintz, Young Chang Cho, Maria Kliegel, Alexander Baillie, Stefan Popov, Francois Salque, Diana Ligeti and others.

Maya Bogdanovic started playing cello at the age of six, at the School of Music "Kosta Manojlovic" in Zemun (Serbia) in class of professor Nada Jovanovic. At the age of 16, she became a student at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. She graduated under Michel Strauss and Itamar Golan, winning first prizes in both cello and chamber music. In 2005 she finished her postgraduate studies at the Conservatoire under Michel Strauss.
Currently residing in Paris, she pursues further training M. Strauss.
