Leonardo GASPARINI was born in Venice (Italy) where he studied music and
founded a Chamber Orchestra. He later was taught by Maestro Sergiu
CELIBIDACHE. Living in France for a few years, he is currently Professor at
the renown Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris. He is a specialist of French
composer Antoine DUHAMEL : he created many of his works such as the movie
soundtrack of "Laissez-Passer" (directed by Bertrand Tavernier and Golden
Bear at the Berlin Festival in 2002). His latest performances lead him
recently in Lisbon (Teatro Nacional Sao Carlo, invited by Zoltan Pesko), in
Italy (Maggio Musicale di Firenze, Orchestra della Magna Grecia), in Mexico
(UNAM, Oaxaca, Guadalajara) and in Romania.
He is to conduct several concerts with Orchestre Pasdeloup de Paris (the
most ancient symphony orchestra in France) during its next season.
