Jana Havranova , soprano, was born in Slovakia an received her first musical and vocal education at the Bratislava Conservatory, with Prof. Ruzena Illenberger.
In 1995, Jana was winner of the 1995 Destinn Competition in Budweis and she received the 2nd Prize at the Antonin Dvorak Competition in Karlsbad.
Praised for her beautiful vocalism, riveting acting and beauty, she made guest appearances in Pilsen, Bratislava and at the Prague State Opera. She became a soloist there in 1995 and was heard as Gilda, Violetta, Katia Kabanova, Jenufa, Marguerite from Faust and Pamina from The Magic Flute.
