Frederic BANG-ROUHET (bariton) :

In addition to working toward his-Doctorate of Medicine, Frédéric BangRouhet satudied vocal technique with Paul Finel of the Opéra de Paris and was unanimously awarded "Premier Prix" in Singing in the Paris Competition of Conservatories (1990).

He was then admitted to the National Conservatory in Paris to study Lyric Opera Theatre. Concurrently, he studied the interpretation of mélodie française and French Operatic Rôles under Camille Maurane. Additionally, he participated in Advanced Studies under Jean-Christophe Benoit and Paul von Schilawski. Since 1992, he has been trained by Nikita Storojev.

Frédéric Bang-Rouhet has been singing on stage Baritone Rôles by Mozart, Rossini, Donizetti, as weil as various French composers, Among these, are : Figaro (il Barbiere di Siviglia), The Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Escamillo (Carmen), as weil as many operettas by Offenbach, Lehar or Messager (Véronique). The Masters of French Singing awarded him the Prix d'Opéra.

Frédéric Bang-Rouhet has been invited by the National Opera in Taipei where he sang Moralès (Carmen) , with Elena Obraztsova, Adrîana Maliponte and Vladimir Popov, and Ping in Puccinis Turandot with Giuseppe Giacomini and Francesca Patané.

His Répertoire aiso includes many Oratorios, ranging from Cantatas by Bach, works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Dvorak, Fauré's Requiem, to Honegger's Danse des Morts and Cantate de Noêl.

Frédéric Bang-Rouhet enjoys singing Lieder and french melodies in recital and won the 1991 Prix Duparc and the 1993 Prix Roussel. ln 1999, he gave a recital in Beijing, at the new auditorium of the Forbidden City.
