Maya BOGDANOVICH (Cellist) : She was born in 1982 in Belgrade. She started to play the cello when she was only 6, in the »Kosta Manojloic« Music School in Zemun in professor Nada Jovanovic class for next ten years. When she was sixteen, she passed a high rang exam for studying at one of the most famous Conservatory - Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where she graduated last year with the highest mark "tres bien a l'unanimite" in professor Michel Strauss class. In september, this year, she was accepted "a l'unanimite" on post-graduated studies in the same class
At the age of eleven she won the second prize at the »Petar Konjovic« competition in Belgrade. At the same competition, three years later, she won the special prize with 100 points, as well as at two Republic and Federal competitions. She also appeared as a soloist abroad - in Czechoslovakia, in Usti nad Orlici town, where she won the second prize and another two special prizes for imposed compositions. She was at the second place in Austria, in Liezen, among 40 cellists from all over the world. She won the special prize (100 points) in Košice, Slovakia, in Italy- premio Kawai - she won the special prize (100 points), as well as at various Festivals and Reviews in the country. She was absolutely the first for three times at the Serbian Music Schools Review of talented students. On that occasion she was given the prize form Ministry of Culture. She was a holder of scolarship from the Fund for Scientific and Artistic development of the youth in Serbia, as well as Madlena Jankovic Fund. Since January 2002 she has been a holder of scolarship of the French Government for studying in Paris. She was also the winner of the prize form »Kosta Manojlovic« Fund for the best results in 1996 and 1998. In 2003, Maya got a first prize on ESTA competition (European Strings Teachers Association) as well as Grand Prix de Normandie - chamber music - duo with pianist Sanja Bizjak.
She had a great number of solo performances in the school and on some other important places: The SANU Gallery, the Kolarac Gallery, the Kolarac Concert Hall, the Zepter Gallery, the Synagogue in Novi Sad, also Radio and Televison Serbia, TV Novi Sad and RAI recordings. She recorded with Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra and the conductors Maestro Stanko Jovanovic and Maestro Angel Šurev. She appeared in Arandelovac on »Marble and Sound Festival«, in »The summer in Synagogue« Festival in Novi Sad and on Belgrade Summer Festival as a soloist with RTS Orchestra cunducted bz Maestro Šurev. She played in Concert Hall of Sorbona with the Republic Guard Orchestra (France), conducted by Maestro Francois Boulanger. She played in Italy, Slovakia, Czech Republic, France, Austria, Romania and Yugoslavia. In july this year, she played on Cello Festival in Belgrade.
After her professors Nada Jovanovic and Michel Strauss, she worked with Bernard Greenhouse, Guillaume Paoletti, Diana Ligeti,Sandra Belic, Stefan Popov, Martin Loehr and Alban Gerhardt. She cooperates with Sanja Bizjak (piano) and Mate Bekavac (clarinet) - trio...
